左腿向正前方伸
直,足跟着地,
足尖上跷。

全身其他部分保

移时尤其不可移

由后坐势转为前弓步。左手、
臂基本维持原状随身移动。以
右肩关节为中心,以右臂为半
径,循弧线提起右手,直到手
掌与肩同高。右掌仍旧向左,
手指指向前方。

手臂提起时顺势略微左移使右
前臂与左手掌轻轻接触。
注意在举手时不要耸右肩。

以左胯与左足跟连线为
轴向右转动45度。使左
足尖指向东南角。上身
也顺势以脊髓为中心右
转面向东南角。

在转身的同时,以右臂
为轴向内转动,使右掌
由面北转为向南。

维持全身体态基本不
变,以右胯关节为中心
右腿为半径,将右足跟
轻轻擦地作弧线后移约
一足的距离,使双足跟
的连线处于东西方向,
而双足基本平行指向东
南角。

维持左膝基本稳定,微提右足尖,以右足跟为中心,同步转动右足与右胯,右腿由直转曲,开胯,
将重心逐渐由左腿右移,直至右足尖指向西南方,双腿平均分担重心为止。同时,上身由东南方转
向正南,并且由前倾转为中正。
右肘顺上身右转之势,向右下移动,至胸的右前侧,右手掌保持向南随右肘的右移而从左手的虎口
中向右抽出置于额前。为了右肘下移过程中尽量维持右手掌的高度不变,并且保持手指指向东方,
右手腕要尽量向拇指方向下旋。
维持左肘高度不变,以左臂为轴将手掌东转并向东微推与右臂右移的协调运动构成拉弓射箭状。视
线当注视左手前方。动作完成的最后时刻,足尖踏实。此时当全面检视一下是否达到含胸拔背,鼓
腰圆裆,上身虚领,下盘稳固。
练拳架至此,应当明白,重心虽主要落在足底后部,但双足外侧也需着力,足指要有抓地的意识。
绝对不要让重力落于足底拇指内侧。单鞭与本式的终止状态尤其如此。此动作中,腰、腿、膝、足
的运动要领详情,可以参照单鞭中的步骤04 及 05 。

             Fan through the back 01

Stretch the left leg forward and land the heel on the
ground with front part of the foot including the toes
pointing upward. Keep the rest of the body still.
Particularly do not shift the weight center when stretching
the left leg. Maintain all the motion requirements of the
sitting post.
                     Fan through the back 02

Move forward from sitting post to bow step. The left arm is holding
on its original position while moving forward along with the body.
With the right shoulder joint as center and the right arm as radius,
raise the right hand in an arch form till it is in the same height with
the shoulder. The right palm is still facing left with fingers pointing
forward.

While raising the right arm, move it a little bit to the left so that the
right forearm is slightly touching the left palm. Pay attention that
the right shoulder is not shrugging when raising the arm.

With the connecting line of the left hip and the left heel
as axis, turn to the right for 45 degrees with the left toes
pointing to the southeast corner. Along the course, with
the spine as the axis, turn the torso to the right facing
the southeast corner.

While turning the body, with the right arm as axis, turn
the hand inward leading the palm from facing north to
facing south.

While keeping the positions of the rest of the body
basically unchanged, with the right hip joint as center
and the right leg as radius, rub the right heel backward
in an arch form for a distance of a footstep. Keep the
connecting line of the two heels in the east west
direction and both feet are  basically parallel and
facing the southeast corner.

Keep the left knee stable. Raise the right toes slightly and with the right heel as center, simultaneously rotate the
right toes, right hip and right leg from a stretching position to a bended position with the right toes pointing
southwest. At the same time, open the hip and shift the weight center gradually from the left leg to the right till both
legs share equally the weight of the body. The upper body is rotating from southeast to face south and the leaning
torso is becoming upright.

The right elbow is moving downward to the right front side of the chest along the course of turning the torso to the
right. The right palm is still facing south. While moving the right elbow to the right, withdraw the right palm from
behind the left wrist and place it in front of the forehead. Keep the right palm at the same height during the process
of moving the right elbow downward and maintain the fingers pointing east. In order to do this, the right wrist has to
rotate down toward the direction of the thumb as much as possible.

Keep the height of the left elbow unchanged. With the left arm as axis, rotate the arm forward to the east with the
palm slightly pushing eastward. The motion of the left arm is coordinating with the right move of the right arm to form
the stance like pulling a bow to shoot an arrow. Keep the eyesight in the direction of the left hand. When the motion
is completed, the front toes are solidly grounding. Now, it is the time to inspect whether the requirements; such as
drawing the chest inward, extending the back, rounding the lower back and the crotch, aligning the head and
stabilizing the lower part of the body, are all fulfilled.

In practicing the forms, it is necessary to understand that even though the center of gravity is essentially fallen on
the latter part of the feet, the outer edges of both feet are also lending support. The toes are having the sense of
grasping the floor as well. The body weight must not be placed on the inner edges along the big toes. The ending
posture of Single Whip is very much the same like this posture. References can be made with the procedures of
Single Whip 04 and 05 as to the detailed requirements of the movements of the waist, legs, knees and feet in this
posture.
