提手上势 3:
头部左转回复平视南方。同时,以肘
关节为中心,右小臂为半径,将右手
移向左手,使右手指置于左手腕处,
此时不能使右手腕凸出于右手指之
前,即要保持小手臂与手背基本处于
一个平面上。此时双臂外侧与后背构
成一个饱满扩张的园环。但切记手臂
肌肉仍要保持松弛。只有松弛方会有
饱满的扩展之意。
注意手臂转动时尽量不要移动肘的位
置,尤其不能扬肘。
提手上势 2:

头部右转平视西南
方。
以右手肩关节为圆
心,右臂为半径,将
右手向西南方举起直
至与肩平。同时旋转
右臂使右掌由面下转
为向左,肘微曲。
身体其他部分保持静
止。
提手上势 1:
重心移向右脚,注意控制右胯关节尽量不要随之向右
方凸出,并保持上身的稳定。左脚向前直伸着地的同
时,举左手至距嘴前一尺处(小心别提升肩关节)。
尽量保持右半部身子不动。
左脚前伸时,不能移动重心,即图I 所示的胯关节
D点)不能前移。这样便可以使左右两大腿保持平
行。两膝不能一前一后或一高一低。左脚尖尽量翘
起,使全身重量都落在右腿上。如果能保持开胯状态
则有利于体态的平衡,并容易放松上身的肌肉。不能
挺胸,使左手臂外侧与后背有如气球向外膨胀的感
觉。

                                  Raise the hands 1
-Shift the weight to the right leg. Attentively control that the right hipbone is not convex out.
At the same time, maintain the upper body stable.
-Stretch the left leg forward and once the heel touches the ground raise the left hand to the
distance of a foot from the mouth (in doing this don’t shrug the shoulder joint). Keep the right
side of the body as still as possible.
-When stretching the left leg, do not move the central axis of the body. This means the hip joint,
as indicated by point D of Fig. I, does not shift forward. This is the way to maintain the balance
of the right and left thighs. The left knee is in line with the right knee.
-Pull back left foot with toes pointing up as much as possible. Let the weight of the body fall on
the right leg. Keep the hip opened, as it will facilitate the balance of the body.  It also makes
the muscle of the upper body to relax easier.
-Do not throw out the chest. Let the outer side of the left arm and the back of the body expands
outward like a balloon.

-Turn the head to the right and look levelly to the South
West side.
-With the right shoulder joint as center and the right arm
as radius, raise the right arm forward to the South West
side until it reaches the shoulder level. At the same
time, turn the right arm making the right palm from
facedown to face-left. The right elbow is slightly bended.
-Other parts of the body remain still.
                              Raise the hand 03                                   
-Head turning left and back to the South side in eye level. Simultaneously, with the elbow joint
as the center and right forearm as radius, move the right hand toward the left hand by placing
the right fingers close to the inner side of the left wrist. The right hand wrist is not convex
outside of the right hand figures. This means the outer side of the forearm and the outside of
the hand are basically in the same plane.
-When the above is completed, the outer side of both arms and the back of the body will form as a
full and expanded circle. Remember to keep the muscle of the arms relaxed. The full expansion can
only be felt with such relaxation. Also watch out that when turning the forearm; try not to move
the position of the elbow; especially not to raise the elbow sideway.

        太极四隅解
四正,即四方也,所谓棚、捋、挤、按也。初不
知方能始圆。方圆复始之理无已,焉能出隅之手
矣!缘人外之肢体,内之神气,弗得轻灵方圆四
正之功,始出轻重浮沉之病,则有隅矣!  
辟如:半重偏重,滞而不正,自然为采、例、
肘、靠之隅手,或双重填实,亦出隅手也。病多
之手,不得已以隅手扶之,而归圆中方正之手;
虽然至底者,肘靠亦及此以补,其所以云尔。夫
日后功夫能致上乘者,亦须获采列而仍归大中至
正矣!是四隅之所用者,因失体而补缺云云
