      Summary    

I love Taijiquan,  that matial art I learned more than thirty
years ago from Master Daiyin , one of the best students of
the renowned Tai Ji Master Daquan Zhang from China and I have
been very fond of practicing Tai Ji ever since.
Currently, I reside in New York, USA.  
The purpose of this website is to learn from other masters
and exchange ideas with peers or anyone who is interested,
improving my skills and discussing the Tai Ji philosophy.  
More importantly, I hope to continue to explore and reflect
the Tai Ji philosophy on my life

Now that I am able to contribute my experience and skills to
the Tai Ji community
I would like to thank my teacher, Master Daiying, for his
wonderful teaching for so many years.
   要   旨

本人酷爱太极拳,已练拳三十余载。师承上海名师张
达泉先生之爱徒戴英老师。

现居美国纽约,盼藉此网页向前辈求教、与同好交
流,以续增技艺,探讨拳理。更望以太极哲理反思处
世之道,修身养性。

若对太极普及能尽绵薄之力,或可慰戴英等老师尽心
教授之情。

先明为何学 方知如何学  

    
吴邦仁

要长寿更要求健康。健康之道多得
是,人说生命在于运动,哪项运动都
有益于健康,而要真正达到健身的目
的,有恒心的坚持锻炼是必要的条
件。所以,真感兴趣才是选择运动项
目的关键。我常对要学拳者这么说,
“想清楚了,这是长期健康投资,练
太极拳很难立杆见影的。如果没长
心,三天打鱼两天晒网,对教者、学
者都是浪费时间。”

说运动有益健康也是有条件的。有不
少实例说明,凡将运动作为生活手段
的,就不一定有益于健康了,甚至有
害于健康。一是因为精神上的压力;
二是为了竞争而体力上过度的,超负
荷的消耗;三是,摧残身体的锻炼方
案。四是竞争中带来的严重肌体伤
害。

所以,以追求健康而进行体育锻炼时
必须建立平和的心态、控制适度的,
细水长流的体能消耗, 采用循序渐进
的锻炼方法。太极拳就是要求根据自
身体质的承受能力,逐渐地、自然地
提高肌体功能及意识对肌体运动的控
制能力。正确的练习方法可以避免肌
体的伤害。太极拳主要是练意而非练
力。这是其他体育运动很少具有的特
点。所以,太极能成为年老体弱者最
普遍的练身手段。在缓慢的肢体运动
中必须内含有严密的意识运动,将每
一瞬间的肢体运动置于严密的意识控
制之下。我为当前太极拳技击的流失
而忧虑,但是太极拳与太极操的区别
主要不在于是否掌握太极的击技,而
是在于练习太极时是否着力于意识控
制能力的锻炼。如果没有注意意识的
控制能力,只是随意地作轻歌漫午般
的肢体运动,那么这只是太极操而非
太极拳。

Currently, the most mentioned main schools of Tai Chi
are the five families of Chen, Yang, Woe, Wu and Sun,
however there are only three schools, according to my
knowledge that are direct descendants from the past,
namely the Chen, Yang and Wu.

Originally, Yang style had according to the extent and
expression of movements
classified into three framework of forms, big, medium
and small. The small frame is most conducive to actual
combat fighting. At present, the most popular Tai Chi
for fitness is evolved on the basis of the Yang’s
large frame. A lot of simplified fast-food style Tai
Chi are the modern designs for busy office workers,
the elderly and Westerners. Wu style is evolved on the
basis of Yang’s small frame.

Ji Zixiu (紀子修) and Wu Quan You (吳全佑),father of
Wu Jianquan (吳鑒泉) were students of Yang Lu Chan (楊
露禪) ,but as promised in his retirement he turned
them both to his oldest son, Yang Ban Hou (楊斑侯) who
is known for his skill in the Yang’s small frame. One
condition they were made to keep is not to teach Yang’
s style to anybody. So under the guidance of Wu
Quanyou ,they had created their own genre of teaching
based upon the Yang’s small frame modulus. Finally it
was Wu Jianquan who laid down and put together the
form for Wu’s angular frame. It is a crystallization
of the collective wisdom and the inheritance of Yang
style small frame characteristics.

Because of the health benefits that were attributed to
the practice of big frame Yang’s style, especially
after 1949, Chinese government intervened and it has
become the officially-recognized standards of
Taijiquan. Ever since Yang’s small frame almost
extinct. For now, Wu’s angular frame is closest to
the Yang’s original  small frame school of Tai Chi.

  漫谈太极与科研  吴邦仁

太极拳作为一种武术,它的健身功能
已经获得越来越广泛的肯定,并深受
民众喜爱.但由于它那四两拨千斤的
功能还未能得到现代实验科学的验证
或解释, 使大多数崇尚科学的现代人
对太极以柔克刚的表演的真实性还抱
有怀疑.如何以现代科学来解释太极
的技击原理,可以说是对科学家提出
的一项要求.
当在cntv.cn上看到发表于2011年7月
30题为 <最高境界的格斗术> 的视频
资料后,我为中国第一流的"国家体
育总局体育科学研究所"终于开始着
手有关太极拳技击功能的科学研究而
感到欣慰.并期盼着他们在这一领域
能获得丰硕的成果.推动太极运动的
普及与提高.

正是出于这种期盼, 我愿意提供一些
观后感,供有意对太极拳技击原理作
深入探索的拳友参考.

在观看了三集视频节目后,(可以在
youtube.com,或cntv.cn或youku.com
中搜索"太极拳--最高境界的格斗术
"),我认为,此次实验,除了充分证
明太极拳搏击中发力的强弱决非搏击
胜败的决定性因素外,还确认了弧线
及切线运动在太极拳中的重要地位.
可惜的是作为一个科研单位, 没有对
弧线运动在四两拨千斤的搏击中作出
更深入的力学分析.  更遗憾的是,在
整个实验中,具有丰富太极锻炼经
验, 较高搏击技能的张志俊先生没有
起到制定实验计划,解释实验结果的
主导作用. 而且很显然,视频和讲解
词的编辑者并不熟悉太极拳,整个节
目趣味性多于科学性,忽视了有关太
极关键搏击特点的科学论证。尤其是
在最后的解释词中,编辑加上了不少
的最……最……最……的套话,将一
次很有意义的太极研究尝试蒙上了不
必要的宣传的色彩。
